The equipment listed below is available for loan to members. More items, with photographs, will be added shortly. Here is the full list of list of equipment currently available for hire. Items are generally loaned for up to three months, but we need everything back by the June meeting so that it can be checked over and so that it is available for use at the summer shows. A deposit is required for any items valued at over £100. This will be returned once the item has been returned and checked off as complete. Here is our full policy. If you would like to borrow any of the equipment, please ask when you are at one of our meetings at the Highland Hotel in Strathpeffer, or use the contact form on this website to ask if it is available.  You will ned to fill in the hire form (downloadable here as Word or pdf) for anything you wish to borrow.  This can be done at the time, or you can start to fill it in beforehand if you wish.

          • Hand Carders

            hire cost £5 per month

          • Drum Carder

            with large G clamps – hire cost £10 per month; deposit £50.

          • Blending Board

            with stand, clamps, brush and two dowels for creating rolags. For more information and photos see the write up of our open day in April 2022. Hire cost £10 per month.

          • Large Hackle

            This is used for blending. It comes with G clamps to fix it to a table. Hire cost £10 per month; deposit £50

          • Small Hackle

            This is used for blending. Hire cost £10 per month; deposit £50

          • Wool Combs

          • Swing Picker

            For weaving narrow bands. Hire cost £10.

          • Louet Erica 4-Shaft Loom and Stand

            50cm wide table loom with stand and accessories: warping frame, 2 shuttles, threading hook, cardboard warp sticks. Loom and stand fold flat for transportation.
