About your tutor:
After completing a degree in Design for Textiles at university in both Scotland and Finland, Lucy’s textile practice has developed to encompass design, sustainability and a strong message of environmental protection.
The handwoven Arra Textiles collection of interior and wearable designs launched in 2016 with the Textile Artworks following in 2022 at Collect Open. The designs for both aspects of her practice have become known for colour, complex woven design and a connection to place.
The everyday, Arra Textiles collection compromise of a colourful range of designs for the home and body. Each piece is a limited edition or one off and has been hand woven with sustainably sourced natural fibres.
Over the past few years, her practice has grown to encompass a wholesale element alongside the bespoke, commission-based projects both large scale and small. She has been hand weaving and teaching for 10 years and is currently based in Aberdeen, Scotland.
